Biography

Randy Gerdes has over twenty years in human development, including positions as Vice President of OD at Great Western Financial, Director of Organizational Effectiveness at Fluor Corporation, Executive VP at Anderson DeBartolo Pan, Inc., and Senior Consultant/Director of Organizational Solutions Group at Personnel Decisions International (PDI), where he worked with PDI’s acclaimed Targeted, Developmental, and Executive coaching processes.

Randy holds a number of certifications, attesting to his commitment to provide clients with leading-edge tools and proven processes. Those certifications include his accreditation as a transition and change management consultant with William Bridges & Associates, and his certification with Emotional & Social Competence Inventory™, the 360° survey based on Daniel Goleman’s landmark work on Emotional Intelligence (EQ), which allows leaders to increase their effectiveness in areas shown to be vital for executive success. Randy’s work with architects and engineers brought him to appreciate the power of visual communication. He utilizes graphic facilitation (‘drawing out loud’), a powerful toolset for collaborative development of vision, business strategy, and action.

Randy holds an MA in Human Communication (Summa Cum Laude), and he’s convinced that people are the competitive advantage in business today. In addition to leadership positions in four Fortune 500 firms (PepsiCo, May Company, Great Western, Fluor), Randy has served on the adjunct faculty of the University of Arizona and the faculty of the University of Phoenix, teaching graduate courses in Organizational Behavior and Leadership, and has been a guest lecturer at Arizona State University and Washburn University. His clients include Dial Corporation, CSAA, Bank One, Texas Instruments, American Express, Think Federal Credit Union, Nortel, Nokia, Bombardier Aerospace/Flexjet, Caremark, Gould Evans Architects, PECO Energy, URS Engineers, Uni-Systems/Kinetic Architecture, Catholic Health Initiatives, and the Government of Egypt.

Randy works with executives, professionals, leaders, and business owners. His primary focus is the development of attitudes and behavior that improve leadership effectiveness. Randy is certified in Personnel Decisions International’s coaching methodology, which has won international acclaim from the Consortium for Research on Emotional Intelligence in Organizations (www.eiconsortium.org). Randy developed the Insight for Action™ process in 2002 to provide clients with the tailored solutions they need to improve leadership effectiveness and to secure additional business through relationship management with key clients.
